Southampton has always had a thriving music scene, and some noted locals have graced stages all over the world, and now the SoCo music project supported by Southampton City Council are celebrating the rich musical heritage with So:Fest.
Headlining the free music festival in the heart of the city, is one of Southampton's most well known locals, multi award winning songwriter and producer Mark Hill.
Co-founder of UK Garage act Artful Dodger, they shot to fame with the 1999 top ten hit 'Rewind' featuring another Southampton local, Craig David. With 16 top ten hits under his belt, Mark is back under his new guise Artful, performing all his hits and new material with a full live band at this, the first SO:Fest.
After having a sneaky peek at rehearsals a few weeks ago, I can guarantee that this performance will blow you away. With guest vocalists including Aaron James Cashell performing Artful & Ridney's latest hit 'Do What We Do', out now on Hed Kandi, it is defiantly a performance not to miss!
All the action kicks off at Guildhall Square in Southampton on Saturday 29th September at 3pm, with Artful taking to the stage at 9:45pm.
You can follow the action as it happens via the Instagram hash tag #sofests or by following Artful on Twitter twitter.com/thisisartful.
